The Older We Get

Our purpose on earth,
started from birth.
Time flies,
beyond the skies.
We only get a minute,
better live while we're in it.
The people who aid your health,
influence your wealth.
Not the money and matter.
The fluid within us: water.
Be hungry for this,
opportunities we miss,
cause us to lose sight
in what's right.
The older we get,
fewer friends we've got,
but you don't need a lot,
because in a room of pitch-black,
they got your back.
We've laughed and cried,
souvenirs and signs show we've lived.
The older we get,
no more games of play,
instead, we've got more to say.
In the old owl's eyes,
we mature into wise.
And the older we get,
the more grateful we are,
as we shine like a star.
We are the authors of our story,
no one else can take that glory.
The life we have,
is while we're alive.
Cause' once we're grey,
left to decay,
after we pass,
all that's left will be vibrant grass.
